Pacific Gold Beef Jerky Steakhouse Seasoning

6.5 / 10

This jerky smells great when you first open the bag, and continues to hold true once you put it in your mouth. The problem is once you start chewing, the steakhouse seasoning just contrasts with the beef immensely. There is a nice amount of pepper and the seasoning seems like it'd be good on undried beef. But ehhh it's okay.

Pacific Gold Turkey Jerky Teriyaki

7.5 / 10

CostCo jerky rocks! This is the best Turkey Jerky I've come across, and thankfully it's common. The teriyaki is perfectly sweet with a nice touch of pepper. It comes in great chunks that make it all the better to sink your teeth into. This is good quality jerky, for a great price. Always satisfying. Especially for those who don't like jerky.

Old Trapper Old Fashioned Beef Jerky

5.5 / 10

This has a hint of hickory and is rather boring. The meat isn't that great and it's a little sweet. Tastes like bad thanksgiving turkey. Just not that great.

Riley's Peppered Beef Jerky

8 / 10

So this wasn't as good as the teriyaki beef jerky of theirs, oh well. Still my favorite jerky at the moment. It's good pepper jerky, and I still love it for the huge slabs of meat. This kind was way too dry. A toil just to bite through (though that's part of the fun). Lots of pepper, ended up all over me and my cat. Hm, nothing else too notable with this jerky.

Jack Link's Original Turkey Jerky

7 / 10

This is pretty good turkey jerky considering how hard it is to have tolerable turkey jerky.
It's not heavy like beef jerky, and has a nice texture. Not too hard or soft, and not moist.
I mean it's average other than those jerky features. Not much flavor. Hard to tell if you like the saltiness or not. So far I'm finding I like it more each time I try it. Which on another note, makes me depressed how common Jack Link's is. Sigh.

Wild Bill's Hickory-Smoked Beef Jerky

8 / 10

Wild Bill's is really good jerky, about always. I'm not a big fan of Hickory shit so I rated it assuming that one who liked Hickory would like it (and they did Craig was a BIG fan. He tried to push it up a half point... but I couldn't seem to permit such a jump.)
Well to start this jerky had pretty nifty packaging, just a big lump of meat. You open the top and nibble off chunks, and they are good chunks, nothing like meaty nuggets. It's pretty salty, but that doesn't take away from the taste or rating. The texture is not too hard or soft, perfect actually. Easy to chew.
It's more expensive than other jerkies, but definitely worth it for the quantity per package and the quality.
Overall, the best part about this jerky is their logo, look at that mustache on that man, it's powerful, dressed up in leather too. I'm a big fan of wearing and eating animals, so this really does it for me.

Riley's Teriyaki Beef Jerky

8.5 / 10

This is the most impressive jerky I've came across in a long time. The bag contains several huge pieces of meat. Very thick. It has a splendid amount of salt and not too sweet teriyaki. The thickness of the beef really adds to the flavor and makes for a fuller taste. It's more expensive than the other brands, roughly $6.50, but definitely worth the cost. I really like the packaging too, a different kind of plastic and simple graphics. I'd never heard of Riley's, but now they're number one in my book.

Jack Link's Flamin' Buffalo Chicken Nuggets

7 / 10

Jack Link's jerky is easy to find and generally each kind deviates greatly on the rating scale. Here is one of the better ones, and much more unique. The nuggets are extremely moist and easy to chew. It doesn't seem like real chicken, but the sauce it's soaked in makes you not give a damn if it's chicken crap. I'm not a big fan of buffalo sauce, but this was nice and spicy and had a fuller taste than just that, there was a sweet and salty taste, kind of tangy. Anywho, if you want to try something different in the jerky realm this is a great thing to go get, if you like standard jerky then go for Pemmican.

Oh Boy! Oberto Peppered

6.5 / 10

I had to write the rating on the corner so I wouldn't forget it. If you read more into that it means the jerky wasn't memorable, and it wasn't. Oberto is generally pretty good, but you could tell this had been left out in the store a bit longer than it should. It was incredibly dry, normally it'd be a 7 or so. It was barely salty at all, and because it was peppered, I was a big fan of the lack of salt. But the difficulty of biting into it was a huge distraction from the taste. Oh well! Oberto

Pemmican Beef Jerky original

7 / 10

My boyfriend and I were in the Bay Area and picked up several great jerkies. This had nice texture, a little softer than I'd like but not bad. Pleasant amount of salt and simple flavoring. This one is good but nothing out of the ordinary. By the way, this was addictive on the fourth, couldn't stop eating it with beer. But I guess beer is what makes the rating improve. Anyways, it's jerky, but not the 10 I'm in search of.

Beef Jerky Teriyaki

5 / 10

This stuff was the real winner at the Dollar Store. Kicked the shit out of those nuggets. Not too salty. Nice form (even though hand 'chunked') and tasted like actual beef. For one dollar. Hell yeah!

Beef Steak Nuggets

3 / 10

This time Craig and I hit gold at the Dollar Tree. $1 jerky that tastes better than Big Lots $3, fuck yeah!
I mean you first bite into these brown nuggets and start to think that they aren't half bad... then it hits you that they aren't good at all. Has alright flavoring and not too salty. But then it doesn't taste like steak either, tastes like dog meat. Yum, dog.

JuJu Jerky Original

6 / 10

This we picked up at a local supermarket. The flavor of this jerky was good, strong herbs and so on. It was a bit too moist and too soft, giving it a lower rating. Also, the meat didn't keep much of its taste.

There are better brands for $5...

NASCAR Beef Jerky, Original

3.5 / 10

Another one from the last Big Lots visit, only this one is a little less sucky. The texture is worse than the last one, like plastic, hard to bite in to. The saltiness is high, though less than the Lowrey's jerky. Other than that, that's the only thing that makes it better than the Lowrey's.

However, this one had the balls to put the logo "Satisfaction guaranteed" on the back.

Was it worth the money?
For $3.30, yeah I suppose.

Lowrey's Big Beef

2.5 out of 10

Apparently it's a bad idea to pick up jerky at Big Lots. This jerky is the worst I've ever tried. It scored a 2.5 for us. Salty as can be, little flavor, all around tastes like dog jerky. Absolutely disgusting.
